Cat Cow Frog Tucan

These have the strength of a diamond. Yvette, Sugar, Miss D, and Eleanor. 3-4pm and the sun begins to cast a wax across the greenery.  Noon sun in the jungle hides the contours of its womanly shape.  3-4pm sun brings the kitchen staff to the yoga room as wax melts towards sunset.  This room now holds thoughts and lives full of children, grandchildren, murdered boyfriends, cheating husbands, forgiving hips, laughter, and tireless efforts.  This is the most precious time.  Dust, our lizard, has been with us for 5 days now.  He no longer runs under the sink when we enter and we have a mutual understanding that he will eat insect leftovers.  He has a piece of lint attached to his toenail and likes to watch the fireflies joining in yoga.  He waves to the onlooking family members melting in the sunset.  They all refuse to join in savasana.  Wax gives into contours, contours gives into illuminated bugs, illuminated bugs give into frogs that sound like the aliens in Mars Attacks, frogs sometimes give into thunder, thunder gives into mist, and mist gives into people. All these things combined are exquisitely dream like.

"Space, time, society, labor, climate, food, locomotion, the animals, the mechanical forces, give us sincerest lessons, day by day, whose meaning is unlimited. They educate both the Understanding and the Reason. Every property of matter is a school for the understanding, — its solidity or resistance, its inertia, its extension, its figure, its divisibility. The understanding adds, divides, combines, measures, and finds nutriment and room for its activity in this worthy scene." ---Ralph Waldo Emerson
